I was the primary material maker for the entire game of Aliens: Fireteam Elite. I co-created a masked based material system that does most of the wearing and weathering inside of Unreal Engine. This allows artists to create a simple mask, then apply a material preset in engine to achieve an effect. Our small team was able to create and maintain materials across a game with more assets than the team size should have been able to handle.
